OTPF

The OTPF, 3rd edition is a guide put forth by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) that outlines the framework of our practice using the OT "lingo". It outlines the domains and processes for occupational therapy practice and interventions while putting an emphases on meaningful occupations and the client. The OTPF, often referred to as the framework, includes areas of occupations, client factors, performance skills, performance patterns, context and environment and activity demands. The OTPF is important for students, practitioners and anyone who has any input into the OT process, whether that be stakeholders or other professionals because it serves as a tool to educate as well as outline what guide the therapeutic intervention.

Until next time,
Sam the Student
